A Genny (Signal Generator) is a portable electronic transmitter used in conjunction with a CAT (Cable Avoidance Tool). It actively injects a specific electrical signal onto a buried utility, enabling the CAT to trace that particular line with far greater accuracy and confidence than passive detection alone.
